I remember the Cho-Cho man who pushed a Cart. A friend of mine made them here in 1954.He was 15 years old. The Mix came from a Dairy in St. Louis in 5 gallon containers. This was poured into the upside down cups. A lid with a stick in it capped the cup. It was put in the freezer in Pans of 24. I live in Jackson, TN. 300 miles from St. Louis.

Hey bade, did you try the Northstar Frozen treat website that I posted recently? I never could get the site to pull up. Based on what what was posted on an icecream truck/vendors message board they thought it sounded like a Cho Cho. I appreciate you doing the leg work on Tuckers...saved me some cash.

Okay kids, let's keep it civil. This is definitely a friendly site and I feel sad that there is "anger" between quests.
I want sfgate and bademento to agree to "disagree". Life is too short.
Let's all remember Cho Cho's the way we individually experienced them in our own way, alright?
Thank you sfgate for sharing your experience with us and bademento, thank you for your input as well.
Hopefully, someday, the original Cho Cho's will be made again.

A Cho Cho from the 50's has its own standards, they aren't my standards. That was a flip remark on a very nice web site.

Friendly site? I certainly feel welcomed.
It was not my intent to win some award or garner recognition for my information. I read the first post and felt it was such a coincidence that we had cho cho's this very night - that's all. That may be why I came across as excited.
My apologies for not reading all 8 pages on this subject before adding my information. If I had done that perhaps I would have passed and it would have saved me from registering and now having to explain myself. Guess you said it best - 'nice try'.

Attitude??? I spent $160 to purchase them from Tuckers and have them shipped. I had hoped they were like the originals. I'm sorry if you were offended. Like I have said previously on this posting, I have written and paid the Patent Bureau, and got the patent on the cup and not the recipe, I have a cup, if anyone wants to see it, I wrote to the city the cup was made, and did not get a reply, then I called Tuckers, and lastly, I tried every recipe that has been posted so far on this site. It is something I would like to taste one more time before I buy the farm. This is a friendly site. I'm sorry if you were disappointed that you tried to save the day, but didn't. I wish you had, believe me.

Sounds like you are a cho cho connoisseur...
All I can go by is that Tucker's sells cho cho's, we enjoyed one tonight and it was good. Obviously, it's been a few years since they were main stream so I can't accurately compare the old to the new in some kind of taste test.
Good luck with finding a cho cho that meets your standards.

No, Tuckers in California is not even close to the original Cho Cho of the 1950's. I bought 15 and had them shipped to me from California to Clifton Park, NY, packed in dry ice. As the expression goes "Been there, done that." They were good, but not good enough to settle the taste of the original Cho Cho. Good try.

This may sound like something from the Twilight Zone but we just had a cho cho tonight after dinner!(yummy) I was wondering about the recipe and proceeded to use google and found this forum. I had to join just to share my information with you.
You will be happy to know that we have a company in northern California who sells cho cho's.
