Okay kids, let's keep it civil. This is definitely a friendly site and I feel sad that there is "anger" between quests.

I want sfgate and bademento to agree to "disagree". Life is too short.

Let's all remember Cho Cho's the way we individually experienced them in our own way, alright?

Thank you sfgate for sharing your experience with us and bademento, thank you for your input as well.

Hopefully, someday, the original Cho Cho's will be made again.

Sincerely, Diana

Hey bade, did you try the Northstar Frozen treat website that I posted recently?  I never could get the site to pull up.  Based on what what was posted on an icecream truck/vendors message board they thought it sounded like a Cho Cho.  I appreciate you doing the leg work on Tuckers...saved me some cash.

I remember the Cho-Cho man who pushed a Cart. A friend of mine made them here in 1954.He was 15 years old. The Mix came from a Dairy in St. Louis in 5 gallon containers. This was poured into the upside down cups. A lid with a stick in it capped the cup. It was put in the freezer in Pans of 24. I live in Jackson, TN. 300 miles from St. Louis.

Yours,
JOEL

Hi Diana, I was pleasently surprised to see the discussion about Cho Cho  bars.I too remember them from the 50's . I loved them as a child and no one else that I know of remembers them--so happy to see that others share our fond memory of these tasty ice cream treats. They were delicious .  I live in Pennsylvania and the ones sold here were the plain ice cream,no crunch sold in round paper cups.Sincerely, Loretta

I have just sent an email to the contact for Northstar asking for info or suggesting someone take up our cause or make it.  If I hear from them, I will put it on Diana's Desserts.

In Jackson TN a local business man bought the Mix from St. Louis MO. It was shipped in 5 gallon milk containers on a refrigerated truck. The mix was tranferred to a small pitcher for easy pouring into the 3 1/2 oz. cups. Flat Lids with sticks already inserted througha slot in the lid (by another worker)were placed in the cup. These cups were positioned in a metal pan, about 24 to a pan, and placed in the freezer. This information was told to me by a man who worked there in 1954.
