I have this chocolate cake recipe that requires corn syrup for the frosting. Does anyone know of a good alternative for corn syrup?

Thanks in advance.

Warmly,
Ingrid

If anyone is interested, I just found out. Corn syrup in Australia is called glucose. If you have not got corn syrup/glucose, you can make the following sugar substitute:

If light corn syrup is not available, you can substitute a sugar syrup made with 1-1/4 cups sugar and 1/3 cup water, boiled together until syrupy. If your recipe calls for dark corn syrup, it is suggested that you use a sugar syrup with a dash of dark treacle or unsulfured molasses, both of which are derived from sugar cane.

Warmly,
Ingrid
