Comments:
Serve the vanilla sauce with almost any cake, especially chocolate, spice, or gingerbread, or spoon a little on a dessert plate and place a slice of apple strudel over it. You can drizzle a little over slices of bread pudding, or pound cake.

Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 cup skim milk (non-fat milk)
1/2 cup Butter Buds, or other butter substitute*
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

*Note: Butter or margarine may be substituted for the Butter Buds or butter subsitute in the ingredients. This, of course will make the sauce NOT a low-fat vanilla sauce.

Instructions:
Combine the sugar, cornstarch and non-fat milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add Butter Buds (or margarine or butter) and vanilla extract. Stir to blend. Serve warm.

I think some mistake with this recipe, the amount of butter buds, it's flavor (concentrated butter)and needed just a few!
