Easy Shortbread Tart Crust

Servings: Makes one crust for 9 or 10-inch tart |
Comments: This buttery shortbread tart crust dough can be frozen for up to a month for making your tart later, or bake now with filling of your chocie. |
Ingredients: 3/4 cup ( 1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt |
Instructions: Blend ingredients to make a soft dough. Pat into a 9 or 10 inch tart or pie pan. Prick crust well with fork. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 15-20 minutes. Fill and bake with your favorite filling, or freeze dough in plastic wrap for up to 1 month. |

I sauteed apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, sugar and quick oats. I then poured the apples into the crust in a pie shell pan. Baked 1/2 hour and then topped with vanilla ice cream and Redi-Whip. Yummy and fantastic buttery crust!

This is a great recipe. I had been using another recipe that had the same amount of sugar but less flour and less butter. I was looking for another recipe and this is it. I made it yesterday for a dinner party and it went so fast. Everybody was raving about the crust- how perfect and tasty it is. Thanks so much for sharing!!
