Hi Ivywong68,
A guest to Diana's Desserts website (she is in Malaysia) says you can definitely buy cream cheese (Anchor Brand) in Malaysia by the kg in cake supply stores like "Bake with Yen".

Diana,
Thank you for the reply. Yes, it is possible to get Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese in Malaysia. I was thinking it is more worth it buying 1 kg at a time. Perhaps this is a bad idea because at the end of the day, if I don't use the whole block and mold starts growing, I need to throw it away too.

Hi Jo,
This is Diana. No, freezing cream cheese is not a good idea. I have frozen cream cheese, but when you thaw it out it is grainy. You can never get that smooth texture back.
You should never use cream cheese or any other type of cheese that has fungus (or mold) on it. Throw it out!
Do they have Kraft Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese in Malaysia? If so, it should come in smaller packages.

Hi everybody,
Does anybody know if Cream Cheese can be frozen? I normally buy one block of 1 kg cream cheese but I often am not able to finish it at one time. When I put it in the chiller, fungus starts to grow on it. Can I still use the cream cheese after discarding the fungal infected parts? Is it still safe to consumed?
