Hi Diana,

I just want to ask how long does a cupcakes last? I had a recipe add a 1/4tsp. potassium sorbate in all kinds of cupcakes. If I won't add preservative will it be ok? How long does it last? Thank u!

Hi Smile,

You can store unfrosted cupcakes, wrapped well in plastic wrap, at room temperature for 2-3 days. If your cupcakes are frosted with a perishable frosting (a frosting that contains eggs, cream cheese, or any dairy product) you will need to refrigerate them. They will last in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

I never use any preservatives in my cakes, so I wouldn't know what to recommend about cakes or cupcakes that have preservatives in them.

Take care.

Sincerely, Diana
