Hi Diana,

Your Chocolate Pound Cake with the following link http://www.dianasdesserts.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/recipes.recipeListing/filter/dianas/recipeID/359/Recipe.cfm does not list either baking powder or baking soda. Is this right?
Thank you,

Hi,

This particular pound cake recipe does not include baking soda or baking powder in it's ingredients. This is correct. Not all pound cakes use these levening ingredients. Sometimes the eggs in the recipe are enough to give the cake a levening.

If you like, you may add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, or a combination of 1 tsp. baking podwer and 1/2 tsp. baking soda to the ingredients, but you really don't need to.

If you make this pound cake, please let me know how it came out for you, and if you used the baking powder and baking soda combination, or just the baking soda, or if you made it as the recipe now states.

My Best, Diana
