Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/180 degrees C. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or a 12 cup bundt pan.
Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat on High speed for 5 minutes until fluffy. On low speed add flour and baking powder alternately with milk. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour and 5 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
Combine all glaze ingredients and mix well. When cake is completely cooled, drizzle with glaze.
Makes 12-16 servings.
