Nut Squares

Servings: 32 pieces
Comments:
This recipe is from my Aunt Rosie. When we were kids, she would bake these up for us. They are really yummy!

Ingredients:
6 Tbs. butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions:
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat; add milk, sugars, egg and salt. Beat until well blended. Sift flour with baking powder. Stir into egg mixture to blend. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour into two well greased 8x8 inch square pans and spread evenly. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire rack. Cut into 2 inch squares.

Makes 32 pieces.
