Comments:
A very warm and comforting dessert to serve for Passover. You may serve this at a meat or a dairy meal (parve).

If desired, spoon a dollop of whipped cream over each serving or serve with vanilla ice cream for a dairy meal, or for a meat meal, you can serve with non-dairy whipped topping.

Ingredients:
5 medium Granny Smith apples (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Vegetable cooking spray

Topping:
1/2 cup unsalted matzo meal
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons margarine, melted
1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions:
Peel, core, and cut the apples into 1/4-inch slices.

Combine apple slices, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice, and toss gently. Spoon into an 11 x 7-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray; set aside.

Combine the matzo meal, sugar, almonds, margarine, and salt, and stir well. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F/180 degrees C for 1 hour or until browned. Apple Crisp is best served warm.

Makes 6 servings (serving size: 1 cup)
