This is an old-fashioned pound cake recipe!

Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar
2 sticks (1 cup/8 oz/225g) butter
1 cup Crisco shortening (solid shortening)
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 1/4 cups plain (all-purpose) flour
1 cup whole milk

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C). Butter and flour a 10-inch tube or bundt style cake pan.

Cream sugar with shortening and butter. Add remaining ingredients one at a time. Mix until smooth. Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for one hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn cake out onto a cooling rack and let cool completely. Serve at room temperature.

Makes 12-16 servings.
