Comments: This dessert is like fine wine. The longer it sits, the better it tastes (in the fridge, of course). |
Ingredients: For the Crust: 1/4 cup butter, melted 18 Oreo cookies, crushed into crumbs For the Filling: 3 (8 oz. each) packages of cream cheese, softened 1 can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (or any other brand of sweetened condensed milk) 3 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup mini chocolate chips 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour Topping: (optional) Chocolate Syrup or Chocolate Fudge Sauce (syrup or sauce may be purchased ready-made at the supermarket, or can be homemade) |
Instructions: Crust: Combine butter and Oreo crumbs. Press into bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add sweetened condensed milk and beat until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. In a small bowl toss 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips with the teaspoon of flour. Stir into cheese mixture. Pour over crust. Sprinkle the remainder of the chocolate chips over top. Bake for one hour at 300 degrees F (150 C). Bring to room temperature and then chill before serving. Serve each piece drizzled with chocolate syrup or chocolate fudge sauce (optional). Makes 12 servings. |

It got kind of soggy and we followed the recipe to detail. Not overly happy with result but we found the cheese mix was quite tasty.

I baked this cheesecake last night for my brother and it was great. I omitted the oreo curst and just simply purchased the graham cracker crust and added more chocolate chips at the bottom before the mixture and throughout the mixture I stirred the chocolate chips in and it was great.

Most excellent. The only thing I was thinking about, why not pre-cook the crust for 10-15 minutes first? My crust wasn't that firm, so it tended to fall apart when serving. I used double stuffed mint flavored oreos.
