Servings: 6 Sundaes

Comments:
Microwave makes magic to provide a quick dessert you can assemble in
minutes, with instant coffee a surprise added flavor.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1-1/2 teaspoons dry instant coffee
Dash salt
1 cup water
1 cup chopped fresh pears
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup pecan halves
3 fresh pears, cored and sliced into eighths
6 large scoops chocolate or vanilla ice cream

Instructions:
Combine sugar, cornstarch, coffee and salt. Gradually stir in water. Add pears; microwave at high 4 to 6
minutes or until sauce thickens and boils; stir every 2 minutes. Add butter, vanilla and pecans; stir until
butter melts. To assemble each sundae, arrange 4 pear slices in each dessert dish, top with 1 scoop ice
cream and spoon over about 1/3 cup pear sauce.

Note: Always be sure to use ripe pears.
