3/4 cup vegetable oil
Powdered sugar

Pear Sauce, see recipe and ingredients below

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, soda, salt and cloves; mix well. Stir in eggs, pear sauce
and oil until well mixed. Spread batter in lightly oiled 13X9x2-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30
minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. When completely
cooled, sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar. Cut cake into 1-1/2 inch squares.

Pear Sauce

6 cups pared, cored and cubed NW Pears, any variety
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice

(100%) 6 minutes. Stir pear mixture; rotate dish one-quarter turn and microwave at HIGH 6 to 8 minutes

(Conventional Method)
Increase water to 1/2 cup with ingredients above; bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes

What a GREAT recipe!! They are very, very moist and have just the right amount of spices, that the taste is YUMMY! Our neighbor gave us a bunch of pears, and I didn't know what to do with them, so I started searching for recipes. I am SO happy that I found this one!
