Comments:
These "rainbow" brownies filled with chocolate-covered candy pieces and peanuts or walnuts (nuts are optional) are a favorite of kids and grown-ups alike.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted, cooled
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup candy-coated milk chocolate pieces
1/4 cup salted peanuts or chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Combine sugar, butter and brown sugar in large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy (2 to 3 minutes). Add eggs, unsweetened chocolate and vanilla. Continue beating, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Add flour; continue beating, scraping bowl often, until mixed (1 minute). Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate pieces and chopped nuts (optional) by hand.

Spread batter into greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate pieces on batter. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
