Walnut Chocolate Chip Pie

This scrumptious quick and easy Walnut Chocolate Chip Pie will be the one you choose when you need a dessert in a hurry. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. So good!

Ingredients:
1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie crsut
2 eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup (2 sticks/8 oz/226g) butter, melted and cooled
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (pecans can be substituted for walnuts if needed)
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Garnish (optional)
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (160 C).

Combine eggs, flour, sugars, melted butter and vanilla or other flavoring in a bowl and stir until well combined. Fold in chopped nuts and chocolate chips. Spoon mixture into unbaked pie shell and bake in preheated 325 degree F (160 C) oven for 55-60 minutes, until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Serve at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.

Tip:
If using frozen pie crust, use deep-dish style, thawed completely. Bake on baking sheet and increase baking time slightly.

Makes 8 servings.

i just baked this and have yet to taste it but i would recommend not using a knife to test it because it leaves a hole in the center of your pie. not very good for the showing of it. as i said i have yet to taste it but it looks good.

I had some cherry pie filling to use and didn't know what to make. I also had walnuts and chocolate chips. Using this recipe, I combined everything and it turned out great!

This cake was so good. I made mine with walnuts,chocolate chips,and some blueberry pie feeling.It was so good that I make it for every holiday. Yum Yum !!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this was a very good and thorough set of directions. I havent made the pie yet, but i have had chocolate chip pie before so i can guess that this will be a very good dish. Also, a suggestion for when you cut into the pie with a knife, cut in the middle and then stright down into a more outter portion to make sure everything is cooked right, and then when serving, if you are worried about appearence, just cut along the lines that you cut already, and no one will see where you cut.
