English Muffin Bread

|Servings: Makes 2 Loaves|
2 cups milk
1/2 cup water
5 - 6 cups flour
1 package yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
melted butter (for glazing tops of bread)
Combine milk and water in small sauce pan. Heat over low heat until liquids are very warm.
Place 4 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and baking soda in a bowl and mix. Gradually add warm liquids to flour
mixture and mix well.
Add remaining flour, mix and knead. Dough will be very sticky.
Spread dough into 2-9x5 inch loaf pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise for about 45
Brush tops of bread with melted butter.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans and let loaves cool.
