Servings: 10-12 |
Comments: Frost this retro cake bright yellow, add a licorice smile, and your party guests will be feeling groovy. |
Ingredients: 2 baked 8 or 9-inch round cakes, (flavor of your choice) 5 to 6 cups yellow frosting (white or vanilla ready-made frosting) Black shoestring licorice 2 chocolate mint candy patties Yellow Food Coloring (paste or liquid) |
Instructions: Bake the cakes following the cake box instructions for 8 or 9-inch round cakes. Let cakes cool completely. Layer and frost the cakes. Make the sunglasses out of two mint patties and licorice, then add a big licorice smile. TIP: For vibrant yellow colored icing, use yellow paste food coloring (which is available at party-supply stores, or can be purchased at cake and bakery supply stores) to mix in with the ready-made white or vanilla frosting. Keep in mind that a little paste gives a lot of color. Makes 10-12 servings. |

This is sooo Cute! I loved this... only changes made were instead of using licorice for the smile and parts for the glasses I used the Gel you buy at local stores for cake decorating.

This totally rocks. I am turning 12 on the 20th of June and I am asking my mum to make it for me.
