Classic Shortbread Cookies

Servings: Makes 6 dozen cookies |
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter or margarine, softened 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup granulated sugar 3 cups all-purpose flour Confectioners' sugar |
Instructions: Mix butter, cream cheese and granulated sugar until well blended. Mix in flour. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 13 minutes or until light golden brown and set; cool on wire racks. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Tip-For Holiday Cookies: Tint dough with a few drops of food coloring before shaping to add a festive touch. Makes 6 dozen cookies. |

I was disappointed. Mine did not flatten out. I had to flatten them. They were soft and moist not like shortbread.

Smell good, taste good. This is the first time for me. I actually reduced the ingredients to form around 2 dozen. After forming the dough, I use different cutters to shape. Came out Perfect!
