Butter Bundt Pound Cake

Ingredients: Cake: 1 cup (2 sticks/8 oz./226g) softened butter 2 cups granulated sugar 4 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 cup milk Glaze: 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 2 1/2 tbsp. warm milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract |
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/180 degrees C. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or a 12 cup bundt pan. Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat on High speed for 5 minutes until fluffy. On low speed add flour and baking powder alternately with milk. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour and 5 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer cake to a wire rack to cool completely. Combine all glaze ingredients and mix well. When cake is completely cooled, drizzle with glaze. Makes 12-16 servings. |
