Ingredients:
1 (8-ounce) package mixed dried fruits
1-1/2 cups water
1/3 cup dry white Passover wine
3 inch cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon orange peel, cut into thin strips
3/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup honey
1/8 teaspoon groud allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
In a large saucepan combine mixed dried fruits, water, wine, and stick cinnamon. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer,
covered, 15 to 20 minutes or until fruit is tender.
With slotted spoon transfer fruit to bowl. Discard cinnamon stick. Add orange peel to liquid in saucepan; simmer 2 to 3
minutes. Stir in orange juice, honey, lemon juice, allspice, ginger, and ground cinnamon. Return fruit to saucepan; heat
to boiling. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
Serve at room temperature. If desired, drain fruit befor serving.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Make-Ahead Tip: Pour cooked mixture into a bowl. Cover and chill up to 24 hours.
