Classic Raisin-Oatmeal Cookies

Servings: Makes 3 dozen |
Ingredients: 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup milk 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 3 cups quick or old fashioned oats 1 cup raisins 1 cup chopped nuts, optional |
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C). Beat butter, sugars, milk, egg, and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture; mix well. Stir in oats, raisins, and walnuts. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool completely. Makes 3 dozen. |

Instead of raisins I used dried plums and left out the salt and granulated sugar. They were very tasty.
