Peanut Brittle (Microwave)

| Ingredients: 1 cup peanuts, raw 1/2 cup Karo Light Syrup, or white corn syrup 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. baking soda 1 Tbls. unsalted butter |
| Instructions: Mix peanuts, sugar, and karo syrup together in a large bowl, and put in microwave oven set on medium power for 7 minutes. Remove and stir in butter and vanilla. Put back in oven and cook 2 more minutes. Remove from microwave and quickly stir in baking soda, and pour into ungreased cookie sheet. Shake cookie sheet from side to side to spread brittle as thinly as possible. Let stand until cold and hard, about 2 hours. Break brittle into pieces. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month. |

how much sugar do you use? what makes it chewy instead of hard and crunchy? I used 1 cup sugar followed recipe 2 times still chewy (help please)
