Grandma's Secret Chocolate Chip Cookies

Comments: My grandma has worked on a recipe for chocolate chip cookies for years and this is the final result and it's perfect!!

Ingredients: 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 3 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3/4 cup shortening 1 stick (1/2 cup/4 oz/113g) softened butter 1 (12 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C). Line one or two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine shortening, butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt in another large bowl. Add flour mixture gradually to butter/egg mixture; beat well. By hand, stir in chocolate chips. Drop cookie dough by teaspoonfuls or tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheet (s). Bake in preheated 350 degrees F (180 C) oven for 5-8 minutes. Don't worry if they still look gooey after 8 minutes as they will harden later but will be soft and chewy inside. Note: The amount of servings (number of cookies) this recipe makes depends on the size cookies you make.
