This is straightforward information that I could have used yesterday. I'm used to baking only butter cakes. I baked a genoise yesterday from a Los Angeles Times newspaper article. It did not inform as to the amount of syrup, so I used my own discretion(maybe 1-2 Tablespoons per layer! I torted it to 3 layers). I now fear that my mom's birthday cake will be as dry as the sahara dessert and everyone will look at me with dissapointed expectations. Her celebration is today.Oh well, maybe they'll blame it on my torn rotator cuff injury....No they'll be mad. But thanks for your website. I won't make the same mistake again.
